"The Quest For Chicken" Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Cochon Means Pig!!!

“I was in the house. You was tending to the ranch as usual. Taking care of the horses and what not, then a group of men riding came and started talking with you. I heard yelling outside and knew that something was wrong. I went out as quickly as I could. You was yelling and pointing your finger around. One of the men pulled out a gun and pointed it at you. You saw me and made a gesture with your hand to stay where I was. Two of them came down from their horse and tried to grab you. You didn’t have your guns on you. You were just looking after the horses. You managed to knock them out but the other one just- he just shot you. Then he shot you again. I cried out for you and they turned to me. I ran inside the house but they got in shortly after. They pointed their guns at me and told me that you had stolen from them and that I needed to pay. They told me that they were from the Singh gang and that from now on they would come to me every month for the money. They told me that if I failed to pay they would kill me. That was 5 years ago and I’ve been paying ever since. I can barely make any money to have money left to survive and pay Alexander’s kids but I just have to keep on trying. You gave up everything you were for this quiet ranch life and I will not let your effort go to waste.”

“I see.” Rene said as she stood up. She walked up to the window and looked at the fields. “Where are my guns?”

“What? NO! I am not doing this again. I can’t. I won’t see you die again.”

Natalie grabbed Mrs Blasey by the wrist. “Just have faith in her.” Natalie smiled. “She is tougher than you think”

“I keep your guns in a black case under the bed.” Mrs Blasey said reluctantly.

Rene turned and walked upstairs. The birds were still on the frame, chirping. Rene looked annoyed by it but she quickly got on her knees and pulled out the case. When she opened it she saw two revolvers one was a silver Smith and Wesson model 3, the other was a black double action Colt M1877 model thunderer. Each gun had a gold inscription along the barrel and frame “Git gud” and “uninstall” respectively.

“Goddamn. These are fucking tight” She gabbed them and put them in the bed. She opened an oak armoire that was in the corner of the room. She scrambled through it until “Aha!” She pulled out a holster belt and a box of ammunition. She put on the belt, packed ammo and loaded the guns. She took the Smith and Wesson and cocked it. She took aim and blasted one of the birds off the frame. She smiled and ran down.

Down on the first floor Mrs Blasey had laid out an assortment of pistols and rifles and was inspecting them with Natalie.

“Alright ladies,” Rene said. “Here’s the plan; Natalie, you stay here. You see anyone sus, you shoot em’”

“Did you just say sus?” Replied Natalie

“What? No. I said if you see anyone suspicious, shoot em’”

Natalie looked very annoyed. “Okay…”

“Mrs Blasey and I are going to wherever this Singh fuck is and blow his fucking head off.”

“You sure you don’t want me to go with you two though?”

“Don’t worry Nat. I’m going full sweat on this bitch.” She said with great confidence

“Mrs Blasey, you know where this motherfucker is?”

“Well no, but I know where one of his outposts is.”

“Alright we will go there and shoot as many testicles off as we need until we get the info.”

“Jesus Christ Rene.” Natalie looked worried.

“I’m just kidding. We’re only shooting one pair of balls. The rest are going to be too dead to be of any use.” She didn’t laugh.

Rene and Mrs Blasey mounted on a big white horse and prepared to leave.
“Remember Nat, you see anyone that looks kinda sussy, you shoot em’”

“You did it again! Stop! Why are you saying sus. That’s cringe Rene!”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. Take care, Cochon.” They quickly rode off leaving a cloud of dust on her trail.

“COCHON MEAN PIG!” Natalie yelled frustrated.
